Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 29:18-20
According to the Inter-Religious Council of Sierra Leone, it is estimated that 77% of Sierra Leone's population is Muslim, 21% are Christian, and 2% are followers of traditional African religion. That means that many of the children who enter the center may have never been introduced to Jesus. Pastor Daniel, along with the rest of the staff at The Raining Season, pour into these children day in and day out. They share Jesus and the Gospel with them. They disciple and encourage them while showing them the transformational power of Jesus. Lives have truly been transformed by Pastor Daniel and the staff as new believers put their hope in Jesus. Some of the changes these children have seen is a true testament to the healing power of Jesus and the work that Pastor Daniel and the TRS staff have done.
Recently, all of the children were treated with a trip to the beach. January is one of the hottest and driest months in Sierra Leone so the chance to swim in the ocean and cool off was quite the treat! This trip was even more special because 15 children were baptized in the Atlantic Ocean by Pastor Daniel. It was a joyous celebration as these children accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
We rejoice with these children! Join us in praying for these new believers. We pray that their faith in Jesus will continue to grow as they live and walk with Christ. We pray for continued healing in their lives through the power of Jesus. Lastly, we pray that through their faith, they will disciple others, leading them to know Jesus.
