The Raining Season

A Message from our Executive Director

Greetings TRS Family,

As we near the close of 2024, I want to take a moment to express my deep gratitude for the continued love and support you've shown to our children, staff, and organization. This year has brought both challenges and triumphs, and as I reflect on James 1:17, I am reminded of the powerful truth that God continues to shower us with blessings, no matter the circumstances.

This year, we navigated several changes in our Roots Program that has been an adjustment for our children, staff, and sponsors. Yet, through it all, we remained committed to the mission of the Roots Program. As we refocused on reunification and sustained educational support, we identified a few areas of growth and made thoughtful adjustments to meet the needs of our young adults. So many of you have remained faithful to the mission of TRS, walking this road with us, and for that, we are truly grateful. Several of our young adults who have been reunified have written messages expressing their heartfelt gratitude for what TRS has done and continues to do in their lives. It’s a testament to the power of our work—once you've raised children to be young adults, the true measure of success is seeing them turn out to be good, proud people. I am incredibly proud of our staff and the strong bonds they have built with our children.

This year, we also reached an exciting milestone: we raised enough funds to begin building the fence around the perimeter of our property in Kono. In 2025, we will launch the next phase of fundraising for our building campaign. The vision of providing our children with a large space to play, learn, and even grow our own food is something that fills us with joy and anticipation. The community of Kono shares our excitement, as we will also be offering educational opportunities to children who would otherwise have no chance to attend school. Together, we are creating a future full of hope, opportunity, and growth for both our children and the wider community.

As we continue navigating the journey ahead, I ask that you please keep TRS in your prayers. Pray that we remain steadfast in fulfilling the mission God has entrusted to us—to just love people.

I wish you all an abundance of blessings as we close out 2024, and I look forward to all the exciting things 2025 holds for us.

With gratitude and anticipation,

Lori Pyle, Executive Director
