The Raining Season

Meet Sullay Kamara

The Raining Season is blessed by a caring and dedicated staff.  Our in-country staff goes above and beyond day in and day out.  Caregivers, cooks, security guards, maintenance staff, teachers, administrators, nurses, Skype personnel, and others love, protect, and provide for our children, regardless of circumstance.

Our staff disciples, mentors, and encourages our kids.  They are a blessing to our children and all those in the TRS community, and it is the staff that truly makes The Covering a home.  Today, we have the opportunity to introduce you to one of our staff members, Sullay Abu Kamara.

The Raining Season

Sullay joined The Raining Season staff in April 2010.  Working at The Raining Season was a dream come true for Sullay, as he enjoys working with children.  Sullay serves as the Chief Security Officer.  As TRS’s Chief Security Officer, he ensures not only the safety of our children and staff but also that of The Covering.  During the pandemic lockdowns in 2020, he selflessly spent more than three consecutive months away from his family and at the center, ensuring the safety of our compound.

Family is very important to Sullay.  He and his wife have eight children – five sons and three daughters.  He also enjoys baking bread.  He would even love to share his talent for breadmaking with others at TRS.  As The Raining Season looks ahead to the future, Sullay would like to see TRS continue to grow, and he prays that God will continue to bless The Raining Season.

Uncle Sullay, thank you for more than fourteen years of dedicated service to The Raining Season!  Thank you for your servant’s heart, hard work, and everything you do for our children.  Your dedication is deeply appreciated.  Our children and staff can play and sleep peacefully because they are well protected.  We are grateful for you!

Many blessings,

The Raining Season
