As we near the end of another year, we wanted to share a few ways your support has impacted The Raining Season this year. The Lord has been faithful in so many ways over the past fourteen years and provided in ways beyond even our biggest prayers.
In early 2023, eight young adults began university, and many of their sponsors stepped in to help cover their university fees. Now, six more young adults are awaiting their acceptance letter and hoping to enroll soon, and funds for their tuition have already begun to come in. In February and March, your generosity provided the funds to celebrate every child’s birthday throughout the year with a monthly birthday party each month at the center. In May, our Sponsorship Drive brought new sponsors as well as current sponsors who generously increased their monthly giving. In August, a donation made it possible for The Raining Season to supplement our staff’s income by providing them with half a bag of rice each month for the next four months. A successful Meet the Need campaign raised $7,000 in October to purchase eighty-eight new mattresses for the children at The Covering. Our sponsors began giving to our annual Christmas Celebration in November, and our children and staff are anticipating their Christmas party in December. Finally, your regular giving to sponsorship and The Roots Project each month allows The Raining Season to provide excellent care in the most difficult conditions.
Needs arise, and the funds show up before we even have a chance to ask. God has always been so gracious in fulfilling our needs, and we are thankful for the financial support you provide all through the year.
It takes a village, and we are grateful you are a part of our village.
As we close out 2023, we will once again be emailing 2023 tax statements to all individuals who have donated more than $250 this year. For donations under $250, a tax statement will be shared upon request. If you need to update your email address, please email donations@therainingseason.org. Please note that this is for our accounting and is separate from the weekly emails you receive. Donations postmarked or completed online by December 31, 2023, will be included in 2023 giving statements.
