For fifteen years, we have witnessed firsthand stories of how education empowers the children at The Raining Season and in the community. We've seen it ignite hope and open doors for children in our care and beyond, from primary school students to young adults pursuing university degrees and vocational training. Our commitment to providing opportunity through education for all children is a core value guiding everything we do.
There are children like Neheshia. She is one of one hundred children from the local community attending The Raining Season Preparatory School. For many of these children, this is their first chance to receive a formal education offered at an affordable rate. It is a life-changing opportunity.
There are also stories like Memunatu's. She came to The Raining Season when she was ten years old. Now, Memunatu is studying logistics and procurement in her second year of university. Memunatu, along with her twin sister, recently transitioned from The Raining Season's care to be closer to family. With TRS's continued support, she is continuing her education and pursuing her dreams of building a brighter future.
Education has always been a core pillar of The Raining Season. TRS values the importance of education and its ability to empower children, equipping them with the knowledge and skills to contribute meaningfully to their communities and their country. This belief has driven TRS to welcome dedicated education mission teams, establish the TRS Library, open our school to the surrounding community, and support our young adults as they begin their university journeys. Our staff and teachers have always encouraged our children to dream of what their futures could look like.
Recently, a group of young professionals – lawyers, accountants, and other professionals – visited The Covering. They brought gifts, but more importantly, they shared their personal stories and encouraged our children. Many of these young professionals came from challenging backgrounds but emphasized the crucial role education played in their success. They are proof of how education cultivates critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and active citizenship. Their visit served as a reminder to our children of the impact education can have.
The Raining Season is continuously grateful for the support and encouragement our children receive. After this recent visit, many of the children were excited to tell their sponsors about the guests and the encouragement they received. Inspired by stories like these, our children dream of becoming accountants, teachers, seamstresses, nurses, and logistics officers. Will you join us in continuing to pray for our children?
